If English is not your first language, the University's English Language Centre can help you improve your academic writing.
Derby English Language Centre has created an online space on Microsoft Teams for students whose first language is not English where you can access classes, support and guidance for your studies and also meet other students.
There will be academic writing and speaking classes on key academic topics (eg paraphrasing, referencing and citation, presentation skills, criticality), the opportunity for daily chat with tutors and to meet other students, links to the library resources and events, as well as the possibility to book individual or small group meetings with tutors to discuss specific issues that you are having.
To join in Teams
- Go to JOIN OR CREATE TEAM on the Teams Home page on a PC;
- Or press + at the top of the main Teams screen on a phone or tablet:
- Add the Team code vo483uk to 'Join Team with a Code'
- Or scan the QR code to sign up for your chosen course
